Second Post ;)

First posts to a new blog are ALWAYS weird, so I'm going to save it for later ;) Instead of introducing myself and telling you how I got here, I'm jumping right in with what I really want to say.

I found a RAWSOME health food store yesterday!

It was Saturday afternoon and my dh was playing video games trying to recover from his week at work. I could see he was in no mood for adventure so I grabbed my reusable shopping bags and set out. I had hoped to find some greens and fruit since the grocery ordering has not gotten done.
For what happened next, unless you know my neighborhood, you might not see how it is possible.

We have a baker who sells bread until they run out. everything $2. We have a Sausag-etier with more varieties of sausage than you could imagine. We have an Indian Tea house, and Gormet Organic Market (a.k.a. GO), and many other little shops -- All hidden among rows of houses and schools. Now there is something about the magic of the neighborhood, or my navigational ability -- A strange kind of Alice in Wonderland shift happens and unless you specifically recall the cross streets of any given shop, no matter how many times you've walked past it before, it will not be there when you try and go back.

This is what happened to me on Saturday. After an hour of wandering around, I finally found GO -- only to find it closed for 2 weeks. Defeated, I began my journey home. But then, maybe it was the heat of the sun, or maybe it was overwhelming thirst for a burst of grape juice from a fresh purple grape, I had a Vision. A Vision of Hoboken. The city I'd lived in before moving to this shifty little place. In Hoboken there were no vanishing shops. I mustered up my strength and started off. It's about a 30 minute walk, but hey, you can't argue with a Vision.

Silly Story Short, I found Hoboken Farm Boy. All through college I had incorrectly assumed it was all pills and supplements because it was frequented by weightlifting frat guys. I was wrong. I was So wrong. They have an organic deli, a juice bar, a small produce section that had young Thai coconuts. They did have rows and rows of pills but its a really big store! They had cold-pressed coconut butter, and raw cacao nibs, raw hemp protein and goji berries. It was blissful. I could hardly carry home everything I bought. And did I mention the prices? Almost unbelievable.

So that is my find of the week.
